Thread: Non-artisan has Question on driod.

I'm trying to hlep my guild crafters by going out and harvesting whatever it is that they need. but i have no artisan. i was told that there are driods that will serach for me and tell me whats on the planet.
Now i know you need survaying to serach the ground for whats there, but i just by-pass that by palcing harvestors down and looking whats there (i hope thats not illegal)
anyways the Question is what are these driods called? and canI use them even without novice Artisan.

"Interplanetary Survey Droids", but I don't think that'll help you any.
A survey droid is a consumable item, similar to the Bounty Hunter seeker droids. You use the droid, give it a survey tool, specify a planet to check, and off it goes.
After a bit (20-45 minutes, depending on quality), you get back an email with a listing of all the resources matching the type of survey tool you gave on the planet you named.
However, you don't get any stats, only the name and it's resource type. If you're just using them to check for new spawns (that aren't yet listed in swgcraft), it might be useful to you.
AFAIK, you do not need any artisan skills to use these droids. You will need a bunch of survey tools, though. If you decide to go this route, ask your guild crafters for a crate or two of each type: mineral, flora, and chem would probably be the main ones. Using a survey droid for water, wind, or solar(which only have one type per planet) is probably a waste.
