I'm new to owning my own Vender, and was wondering how everyone else gets their name out to the public.

Right now i'm making Items with the loc and name of my shop and putting them on the Bazzar for less than I normally would sell them.

Does anyone else have an Idea or should I revert to shouting?

Some people make a cheap item, like dice or something, rename it to catch shoppers' eyes, then put it on the bazaar at 3000cr so that nobody buys it. Using things like asterisks in the name will put that item at the top of the list of whatever type of item it is.

Another way is to get Business III in the Merchant tree for global sales listings. Merchant XP is easy to get, so it should't take to long to get there (if you're willin to pay the 18K credits for NPC training.

I put worthwhile things like +30% weapon powerups on a weeklong premium auction with a colorful name for 1 credit.

I'm garunteed they stay up for about a week then.

Go to where groups ofpeople are just getting off of shuttles, getting missions, or listening and watching entertainers and spam away.

Is spamming the only way? I've tried the forums.Enabling Vendor search. Registering on themap.

I can't even sell 6800 Kinetic Ubese pieces for 30k each. I have 6600 Assault and Reconn suits for 250k and they have been fully stocked for two weeks. Before the CU it was never this hard to move Armor. Since many armorsmiths left after the CU I though it would be easy to get back into it.

My most succesful day was when someone 'found' my vendor and liked my stuff so much he bought 5 suits. Then he brought a friend back to help him carry 5 more.

What has been an effective way for everyone to advertise?

All good advise. I think some of it has to do with the fact that I was not prepared for the CU changes in Armorsmith. It was easy to make top nothch Armor before the CU because I had the resources to do so. i don't have the resources to make top notch stuff post CU yet.

Before the CU I could sell 10 suits per day easy. Now it's like starting all over again. I think the vendor search on the backpacks has a lot to do with it as well. I thought that a while back they made items in a backpack show up under that items catagory in the vendor search. Instead customers have to go to 'Misc' to find my stuff. But even if thats the case I still can't get anyone to buy my 6800+ Ubese at 30k per piece. 30k!!! That's basically 210k per suits. Everyone else on the server is at least twice that price. I've seen stuff of the same quality at 150k per piece. Oh well. I'll keep trying.

I don't think I'm happy in general with the direction of crafting in the game. Maybe it's time to clearance out this toon and focus on combat. Seems thats what the Devs want anyway... Not much sense in having a second account just for crafting anymore.

It takes time to establish yourself. When I was the upstart architect, I hunted orders. I perused the trade forums constantly. I checked other people's auctions and contacted the people who didn't win, if I had a similar product. I hung around starports and listened to what people wanted on the off chance I'd get a sale. I kept my master title up and made sure I was searchable. I made contacts with other crafters which allowed them to be able to refer customers to me.

I never spammed at starports. I don't suggest it. It is successful, but half the people end up putting you on ignore. Being ignored is bad, because hardly anyone ever goes to their ignore list to take anyone off, so you're potentially limiting a great many future sales.

Have stocked vendors. Provide good customer service. It's not crucial, but being near a shuttleport is good. Sometimes being a mall is good - need whatever it takes to bring customers near your vendor. Even if they don't buy, they may recall that there's a vendor there and can refer others.

You can even provide incentives, reward plans. Buy 5 suits and get the 6th one free, stuff like that. Reward repeat customers. You can also make yourself known by putting out resource contracts especially for organics. People will definitely know that you're in the market for those resources and they'll remember why you want them.

I don't spam, but I do shout (there is a difference). I simply put a single shout macro on my toolbar and I press that 1 time only when I approach a busy starport. It will likely be lost in the shuffle of the other spammers, but I doubt anyone has me on ignore because I shouted my vendor location and brief product description as I entered the starport entrance in Theed.

I also place items on the bazaars at a reasonable price, and then followup every sale with an advertisement email. I know that has generated lots of repeat sales. Of course, you need to have a product that people are willing to buy as a single on the bazaar, but they really need them in larger quantities. Might not be a great fit for armorsmith.

while on Flurry, don't visit Ojes Yobe's Liquidation Vendors just 800M from Theed starport on Naboo (neg5219 3419) - cause they ain't there anymore! They are now exclusively located in Mos Athens Mall
