Hehe!

Embarrissing (sorry for misspelling!) this! After finally reaching Master Artisan only to never approach this skill again I have now been ordered by my guild to help build AV21:s for them!

They have schematics and engines but I have absolutely no idea what to do! All my tools are so incredibly crap too!

Please someone help me and explain what I have to do to build AV21:s for them! "You are my only hope!"

its really no different from making swoops, speederbikes, and x34 landspeeders..

click on the schematic, and select 'learn schematic', then it will appear in your crafting tool.. you can only use one schematic one time.. (you may relearn another schematic after crafting an av21)

load the powerplant, andthe ferrous and non-ferrous metals into the resource hopper just like you're making other vehicles, and then experiment them as high as you can get it, then create prototype..

i STRONGLY urge you to gather ferrous (iron, steel) and non-ferrous (copper, aluminum) with over 900 shock resistant stats forhigh hitpoints (you will likely get around 96% if you do), a high rated Weapons, Droid, and General crafting tool (try and find one rated 15.0, maximum stat) and use a high rated Weapons, Droid, and General Crafting Station (+40 or higher.. mine is 44.5.. the highest you can get is 45.0)

also, tell your guildies to pray you don't get crit failures.. hehe

Oh man! Thanks a lot for all answers!!

I am gonna do me some bit of experimentation on swoops tomorrow and try to get the "feel" for it!

"Me nono to do failure on guildmembers AV21:s or they have me for dinner!" Kidding, but I don´t think they would be too happy!

I say it again! Thanks, You have cleared many of my questions! *Bows so deep my forehead hits the floor!

Thanks for the answer!

Hehe, I haven´t built any "rides" so I have no clue what to do!!

Do I need a factory to build the "rides", AV21:s or is it enough with the WDG tool and crafting station?

"load the powerplant, and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals into the resource hopper just like you're making other vehicles, and then experiment them as high as you can get it, then create prototype.."

Do the crafting stations have hoppers? Experiment? So they don´t disappear if I experiment on them?

Sorry for very stupid questions! I started as an artisan a long time ago and haven´t tried it for a long time and I don´t understand a thing of it but I am ready to learn "properly" now!

You have to make them one at a time. No need for a factory. The windows as you craft will be easy to read. Try making a swoop first to practice if you are unsure. As for experimenting it will be an option in the 3rd or 4th window along with the 'create prototype' option, experiment first!!!

Ok!

Experiment first! But the resources dissapear as usual, have I got it right? But the schematic stays?

My problem now is that my tools suck big time so I have to find a place to buy a good one and I dont know how find out how good the crafting station is if and when I find one?

Oboy, if there only could exist a "Artisan crafting and how to use tools and crafting stations for dummies" I would buy it in a bat of the eyelid!

Wow okay... where to begin. Okay, I'll start with resources as those are going to be key to everything that follows. All vehicles take only two types of resources: ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal. Ferrous metals include all types of steel and iron and non-ferrous metals include all types of copper and aluminium. Also, anything named "an unknown type of non-ferrous metal" obviously falls into the non-ferrous metal category. The metal requirements for each vehicle type are as follows:

Swoop
1. Requires 1600 units of Non-Ferrous Metal
2. Requires 6400 units of Ferrous Metal

Speederbike

1. Requires 1200 units of Non-Ferrous Metal
2. Requires 4800 units of Ferrous Metal

X-34 Landspeeder & AV-21

1. Requires 1125 units of Non-Ferrous Metal
2. Requires 3125 units of Ferrous Metal

Shock Resistance

This is the only only only stat that matters for vehicles. The shock resistance will determine howmuch you can experiment on the vehicle and that will in turn determine how many hitpoints the vehicle has.

If you're going to buy your resources don't get talked into something because it has a high Overall Quality. Always ask your seller one question, "What's the shock resistance?" As was mentioned before you want the shock resistance to be high for both metals. I know that on my server you can't find a non-ferrous metal with a shock resistance higher than 878, so I compensate by using ferrous metals with shock resistances around 980. Basically, get the shock resistances as high as you can get them. The ferrous metal's shock resistance is slightly more important. Because more ferrous metal is used it's value is more heavily weighted.

Construction

Once you've gathered your resources, AV-21 schematics, and powerplants you're ready to start your assembly. Again, as was mentioned by someone earlier, thehigher ratedyour crafting tool and crafting station the better.

To get started learn the AV-21 schematic by clicking on the schematic in your inventory and selecting the "learn" option. Then double click on your crafting tool. Find the AV-21 in your list of things that you can craft. If it's not there you either didn't learn it or you're not standing close enough to your crafting station. (Note: the AV-21 schematic will disappear from your inventory when you learn it. If it doesn't disappear and you don't get a system message saying you've learned a new schematic, you haven't learned it.)

Alright, now that you've selected the AV-21 in your crafting tool, click next to go to the next step. On the left-hand side you'll see your resource window with all of your possible resources in it (this includes the power plant). All you have to do here is double click on your ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal and power plant and they will automatically be placed in the proper slots in the "hopper." Click the next button to move on to the next stage.

The next option you'll be presented with is the option to experiment, create a manufacturing schematic, or create a prototype item. Be very careful what you click here because there is no going back once you make a selection. You want to click the experiment button. On the experimentation page you'll see a row of boxes across the center of the window. You want to click on the far right box and click the "Run Experiment" button. The experiment will be run and a certain number of those boxes will change color. If there are boxes that did not change color you want to again click on the far right box and run the experiment. You want to keep doing this until you either cannot click on the far right box anymore or you run out of experimentation points. Once one of those two things happen click on the "Done Experimenting" button.

You'll again be presented with the choice to make a manufacturing schematic or a prototype item. You want to click the prototype item button. With AV-21's under NO circumstances do you ever want to click the manufacturing schematic button. If you do, you will have wasted your resources, schematic, and powerplant.

Once you click the "Create Prototype Item" option you'll be taken to the final stage of crafting. All you have to do here is name your item (most crafters like to put the % experimentation in vehicle names) and click on the "Create Item" button.

I hope that helps! Sorry if I broke this down into even simpler steps than you were looking for. I'm sure someone will benefit from it eventually even if there's information here that you already knew.

Resources do disappear as usual because experimenting is just part of the crafting stage. You're still using the resources up to make an item. Usually you would be correct that the schematic stays, however in the case of an AV-21 it is a one use schematic. That means for every AV-21 you craft you will need a new schematic and a new power plant.

In order to find out how good a crafting tool/crafting station is you just look at the details of the object before you buy it. In the details for each item is it's effectiveness rating. For crafting tools 15.00 is the highest and for crafting stations 45.0 is the highest.

*Cheer* Good for you for using only the best resources for the AV!

It makes me want to smack an artisan when I see AV-21s driving around that were only about 75% experimented... I think there should be some kind of law against that.

Can´t edit!

Also bought an 14.82 W.D.G crafting tool with 14.86 stat (don´t remember exactly but close to 15.00!) and an W.D.G crafting station with 44.56 stat!

Hehe, no money left almost but I put my pride in what I build! Gonna build AV21´s for the guildmembers and build Swoops to sell!
