I have 3 accounts but am only going to have one JTL expansion pk. so only one char will have it. Do you have to have the JTL pk to be able to build ships or will any char that has the artisan engineering tree be able to build ships?

I've looked but not found this answer anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

whichever of your alts wants to be a shipwright must have the JTL expansion. Without the JTL expansion you can not train as a shipwright.

I was of the understanding a non-JTL character could be a Shipwright, just couldn't use the ships. Also, Ibelieve classes that make components such as DE could still craftJTL itemsthough can't use them if they don't have JTL. There are non-JTL enabled DE's that are making items right now...

I do know for certain that you can't be a Sullustan or an Ithorian if you aren't JTL enabled.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply. I've decided which char will be the shipwright and did the climb up Engineering tree...and begun to work on novice shipwright. However..thought i'd try to talk to the shipwright trainer and got the message can't converse with trainer until you activate JTL.

I figure the reason DE's can make the ship componants is because they don't need training in shipwright but going shipwright does require jtl.

Come on JTL live!!!

Yes. I have found out since that I was mistaken and need to correct myself. My mistake entierly.

Being a Shipwright DOES take JTL, but other professions that can make JTL components do NOT need JTL to make them.

This should be 100% correct information now.
