Thread: Micro Sensor Suite Advice Needed (on Starsider)

Hello fellow artisans I'm hoping someone...particularly someone on Starsider...can help me.

I'm trying to make 40+ level starship crafting stations. I'm having a problem getting good results from the micro sensor suites. Here's what I'm using:

Takuv Carbonite Steel (QO 992, CD 519)
Erobase Polysteel Copper (OQ 982, CD 969)
Carbtrikapliate Polymer (OQ 962)
Emeho Zansiam Carbonite Ore (OQ 990)
Sifiic Mirth Inert Gas (OQ 994)

The control unit, energy distributor, and electronics GP module are all 98% effectiveness.

My problem is this: the best I can achieve on the micro sensor suite is an 83% effevtiveness. I need to get that number up to at least 90%. I've spent a few months gathering up the resources for this and they are the best, in their respective categories, that Starsider has ever had. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Several other architects are making 42.5 level stations, so their micro sensor suites must be in the 90's.

Any advice would be incredibly helpful!

Try to find steel with a higher conductivity? That's all I can think of.

I know that the steel that's spawned for JTL (Crystallized BiCobantium Steel) on farstar has a CD Rating of 1000, but the OQ isn't good however

I've done some research and the Takuv is the best OQ/CD combo we've ever had Since architects on Starsider have good stations, there must be something I'm missing.

This may seem silly....

But what % experimented are your droid storage modules (assuming this requires them as the rest do)?

It may not be the key, but it's worth a shot....

each subcomponent makes a diference, but I've played around with it a little this morning as I wanted to make a Starship station.

I already had some droid storage modules made up with experimentation of high 90's that I ordered.

I've found that from the artisan side of things, every component needs to be in the 90's, the hardest being the micro sensor suites, but once you get those into the 90's with good sub components included, then the 40% and above rating is achieveable.

I started off with 21% rating, and three stations later (with differing resources) I got a 40.67% one

All of my subcomponents have been good...in the 98% range (including the droid storage modules). It's the micro sensor suite that's causing me the grief *LOL*

Looking at the specs of the materials you are using you should be hitting 90% unless you are filling the sections that require metal with the steel instead of the copper which would then give you a value of 83%.
The sub components dont effect the experimentation percentage of the micro sensor they just give it an intrinsic value that only appears in the final rating of the crafting station.

Gharlane -- you are my new hero (and boy do I feel stupid!). I WAS using the steel instead of the copper -- big time, my bad. Now I can make 90%. Thank you all, ever so much, for your help!

You need all your subcomponents in the 98% range. With those resources and subcomponents in the 98% range, you should be able to hit 90% on your MSS.
