I have been crafting for days now and never get any option to experiment. Can someone please explain to me how experimentation works, when and how you use it.

AFAIK you have to do your crafting at a crafting station if you want the experiment option.

Dont quote me on it though

In order to experiment you need 2 things:

1) You must be standing in front of a public crafting station. When using your kit in front of it, you actually use the station. After assembling the object you'll get the option to experiment or create a schematic (assuming you're at Eng II at least. You'll need that for part II anyhow)

2) You need to be using the SPECIFIC crafting tool for what you're making. If you're making a CDEF you need to use a Weapon, Droid, and General Crafting tool while standing in front of the public station. If you're making clothing, you need to use the Clothing Kit in front of the public clothing station etc. These specific tools can be created at Eng II if I recall.
