Thread: What do PERSONAL and PUBLIC crafting stations do that GENERIC ones don't?
I can't tell the difference right now, can anyone tell me? I'm a newbie artisan and it's kind of confusing what each of the three does
Thanks
Better results, and you can experiment on your items, raising thier stats.
Anything made with a generic tool is junk.
With some items, you can also make schematics, which you can then sell in the baazar. ![]()
okay but i have a question pertaining to this question, everytime i look at a public crafting station, all i can do is examine this:
how do i use it?
You have to make or buy the appropriate crafting tool and then use it whilestanding next to that big crafting unit. Ex: You want to make a CDEF pistol. Buy or make a weapon, droid, and general crafting device. Walk up to one of the big public weapon, droid, and general public crafting stations. Open your inventory and click on the weapon, droid and general crafting device and use it to craft your CDEF pistol. You'll get additional options in the middle of crafting, choose experiment. Have fun. ![]()
Don't you have to have a certain level of General Engineering to be able to modify your craftable items?? If that isn't the case, then why the heck don't they notate that anywhere? It seems that I have been wasting my time crafting crap, good crap, but crap nonetheless, when I could have been modifying some pieces to make quality items...
Right now I am about 3/4 of the way to Engineering Level III. Am I able to experiment right now?
You can experiment from the beginning I think, as you move up you get more points of expermentation to apply to your products. So, yes, you can experment right now.

I know you have said this, but I just want to be clear. You just have to stand by the Public crafting station while using your generic. You don't actually use the public station? Seems a little odd but ok.
I made a bunch of survey/sample tools in the field, should I just destroy them? I was thinking of selling them but I don't want to get a reputation as someone who makes crap.
