Thread: Harvester/Structure cannot access Operate BUG
Hey fellow Starsider Artisans,
I've figured out how to avoid this bug and some other interesting things. Well first off there seem to be TWO version of this BUG, where clicking on "Operate" does absolute nothing. The first one, seems to be just related to your Client and is easily fixed by RESTARTING your computer. The second one is permanent bugged Harvester and cannot be fixed by us. Now on how to reproduce the bug.
Ok this is how my friend and I reproduced the BUG. I had placed a Wind Generator and started it. It was working perfectly. After that, I added my friend to the Admin List WHILE the Wind Generator was turned ON. I'm not sure if it would have matter if it was turned OFF, someone who is rich should test
This bugged the Wind Generator, we are unable to access "Operate" at all. My conclusion it is bugged forever. However, here comes the good news! Our next 5 placed structures WORK perfectly fine, with both of us on the Admin List. This is how we did it.
1. Player A places harvester
2. Player A adds Player B to admin list BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE!
3. Player B starts the harvester.
4. Harvester should now work. (Post here if it doesn't)
5. I would next conclude to NEVER ADD ANYONE ELSE TO THE ADMIN LIST.
Hopefully the developers will read this post and fix this very annoying bug.
Side note: Todaymy friend and Iexperienced the Client side bug which has the exact same symptoms as the Permanent bug, it was a REAL SCARE. The CSR told us we had to destroy them, but we didn't... So please don't care the CSRs word for granted.
Developers note:The Permanent Bugged Wind Generator, I was able to deactivate it and activate with /harvesterActivate and /harvesterDeactivate. This means that if I was able to get the "Operate" window to show it would probably work. Maybe you could add "/" commands for all the functions under "Operate".

I had that bug on 5 of my ore harvesters yesterday... I placed them turned em on added some of my guildies to the admin list.. they worked fine for about 5 hours. even emptied them once and then they stoped leting me in. I was able to get around it by haveing another guildie I gave access to operate it. that worked for about 12 hours at wich point she couldnt get in and I suddenly could agian. we both rebooted our computers several times trying to fix this problem but it did not seem to help.
What rebooting did fix was the ocasional problem where none of the options will come up at all during high latency. basicly the radial menu just sits there pulseing indefinatly with only examin avalible.
