I don't even know where to start. I got trained on the Artisian skill paid for it now I don't know what to do with it. I don't seem to be able to use anything or get anything to make anything. Please help

First, get out your survey tool and start searching for steel by highlighting the name of the metal and clicking "survey." A map will come up showing where the concentrations are. If you get a "resource not found" message,jog about a half a click into the wilderness and do it again. Sooner or later,the map will show some percentages. Keepfollowing the higher numbers (and thewaypionts) until you find a concentration above 50%. Then click on the"sample" button. Keep sampling until you have 50 or so units of steel.

Now click on the general crafting tool and choose "start crafting" from the radial menu. Pick what you want to make. Try a chemical survey tool. Drag units of steel onto the resource containers until they're full. Click the "assemble" button, and you'll make a chemical survey tool. A few seconds later it will show up in your inventory, and you now have surveying and crafting XPs.

Repeat about 10,000 times, and you'll be a master artisan before you know it. Also, it would help you to RTFM.

Here let me try giving a constructive post, unlike some people I actually read your question.

Because you baught the skill and did not start out as an artisan you do not have any artisan tools soyou need to buy, or have someone make you both a mineral survey tool and a general crafting tool. Look on the bazaar or ask some players if they will make you some. After you get these two tools you should take off into the wilderness and look for metals, I recommend steel since you will likely use it pretty often.

Open up your inventory, double click on the Mineral Survey Tool and select one of the Steels. Next click on the Survey button. Shortly after you will see they display on the left side of the Survey tool screen fill in with terrain and some % numbers. These numbers represent the density of the deposit of steel. A waypoint should automatically come up to the highest deposit.

Keep surveying until you get at least a 60% deposit. Then go to the waypoint. You should notice that their is an odd white ray coming from the heavens and highlighting an area of the ground. Stand in the center of that and open your Mineral Survey tool again. You should see a button on the bottom left that says Sample, push it.

You will kneel and begin to sample for the mineral you selected.

Rinse and repeat with whatever Mineral/chemical/flora etc. that you want.

Also as far as crafting is concerned.

Open your General Crafting tool. You will see a toolbar with different item types listed on it

Clothing, General, Weapons ect.

Select the item you want and look at what is needed to make it. i.e. 6 units metal 6 units chemical 6 units mineral. You will need to survey/sample for all the units you need and then you can build the item in question.

I would recommend reading the manual for more info on crafting, it can explain easier than I and probably more clearly.
