What if you have harvestors or houses, or anything that needs maintenance. Then you have to leave for a week or two on vacation.

Is there anyway to cue up minerals or credits for maintenance? Or will you have to lose your stuff that requires maintenance?

If you don't trust anyone to keep them up for you, you're screwed

I would recommend if you have to do that, returning harvesters to deed form so that at the very least, you will be able to replace them when you return. By then, who knows how many times resources will have been nerfed anyway....
