Explain to me..... Do I just put in a schematic and then the resources and thats it? Also do I get GXCP when the factory makes things?

I have my first factory up and running. Here is what I know and a few questions of my own.

1) You do earn GXP for manufactured items for which the schematic is an Artisan item. I've been told that if you are a weaponsmith and you make weapon components in a factory you get Weapon Crafting XPs.

2) You have to remain "close" to the harvester. How close? I wish I knew. It seems that I can go atleast 1.5km. Anyone know the value?

3) Items manufactured will be just like the one in the schematic. However, Apparently you cannot manufacture powerups in a factory. Actually, you can manufacture them and get XPs but they are completely worthless as they have no stats. I suspect this has to do with when the random attributes are assigned to powerups. I was looking forward to being able to make them in batches. Any help?

4) Care and Feeding of the Factory, you feed it credits for maintenance, and power to run. To make stuff you insert the schematic, dump the proper resources into the input hopper, and turn it on. You can stop it manually or you'll get an email when it shuts down automatically (it runs out of resources or has worn out the schematic). Then you go back to it and open the Output hopper and there's ur stuff

Does anyone have a list of what each factory will make? I know the wearables factory would make clothing, but do you need one to make fiberplast panels? Or will the equipment factory make them since they are a low-end basic item the generic tool can make?

There are only 4 kinds of factories I see in my architect tree, so I'm assuming they each correspond to a type of crafting tool/station. But there's also the generic crafting tool that can make all sorts of low-end stuff.

Can a factory make camp kits? What about traps? These schematics aren't in the artisan tree, but then neither are medicines.

Anyway, if someone has a list, that'd be awesome.

Yes, how do factories deal with crafted component for the final recipie? Say my stim C's, take organic, inorganic and 3 crafted components. Do I need to do each component seperately then add the 3 crates of crafted components and the 2 resources for the final product? Or will it simply make he other items (in the background)?

Force, I'm pretty sure it doesn't do the crafted components for you. I also think you have to do such a thing in two steps.

First, you have to make a schematic for each of the crafted components, then have your factory churn out crates full of those, so they are all identical.

Then you need to use some of those to make a schematic of the final item, using the standardized components.

Finally, you put your final schematic in the factory, along with all the factory-produced components.

Can anyone verify this?
