Thread: Personal Vendor Question.
I put up a personal vendor in my shack, and now I was wondering wether the vendormachine will keep selling items that are in stock, as long as they are the same (amount) as the item that is actually in the sell window?
I noticed it is pretty expensive (in maintenance cost) when you put up a lot of items in the sell window, so I was wondering if it worked the way I describe above.
If so, does this only work for items that are exactly the same, for instance stacks of hundred Copper that all come from the same huge stack, and not for instance for Stimpacks, that are all a bit different, after all?
Would appreciate an answer greatly, oh veteran Artisans. ![]()

How do you obtain a personal vendor and how do you stock it?

No. They removed the limit of how many items you could put in there, so you have to put them in there. I tend to keep about 20 in mine and the cost isn't prohibitive. But there is no "auto restock", at least not that I have found (factory crates maybe? Don't know, haven't experienced it yet).
Next to MasterSynn.
1) Get Business III. This is the only way you can get a vendor.
2) Get a house. Any house will do.
3) Once you build the house, go to the control panel and select "Privacy" under "Structure Management" on the radial menu. This will make the house public so anyone can enter. Also it'll be a good idea to rename the house at this point.
4) Open the control panel again (radial menu) "Structure Management" and select "Create Vendor". You will then be able to pick your vendor type. You start out with a bulky terminal as your only choice (some people like these as they are readily apparent as to function). After you pick all your options and name your vendor, it will be placed in your inventory.
5) Go to where you want the vendor, open your inventory, bring up the radial menu on the vendor and pick "Drop". Early vendors, that's about it. You can't move them or rotate them once they are dropped (at least I couldn't with mine). With NPC vendors you can move and rotate them.
6) Bring up the radial menu on the vendor, go to "Vendor Controls" and select "Initialize Vendor". YOU CANNOT MOVE A VENDOR ONCE IT IS INITIALIZED, SO MAKE SURE IT'S PLACED PROPERLY.
7) Drop some maintenance in your vendor (radial menu, vendor controls). Start small, say 50 credits or so.
8) Once initialized and maintained, just double click the vendor (bet you thought you'd see "radial menu" again, huh?) and it will bring up a screen SIMILAR to the Bazaar screen. Here you can stock it with what you want to sell.

Thanks, mldo8o6, I was afraid of that.
I have to choose carefully then, since I wont be around my Vendor that much, having my house set up in about the most remote and harsh region of Naboo. But then again, that was the purpose of my enterprise, to offer a shelter for adventuring groups that venture out so far and hunt the big game in those far away mountains(about 3 miles South of the Lake Retreat). I guess if some group really is in need of a large stock of Stimpacks, that putting up 2 or 3 in the window will not suffice. I dont expect many customers, in fact I expect maybe one every other week or so
but when that one person comes by, he sure should find what he is looking for.
I may stick to putting Minerals, Organics and Chemicals in there only, so that anyone with(low) level Medic or Scout skills can make his own stock in bulk. And a Weapon and Armour repairtool maybe. Someone else suggested putting Spice in my vendor, the sort that gives large HP and Con buffs, and I thought that was a good idea. I hope that stuff is stackable. ![]()
Now if stimpacks were stackable....
Thanks!
The merchant types main abilities seem to be "hire new vendors" in one branch of the skill tree.
What does having a new type of vendor do? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't tell me that it simply makes it look differently. I'm hoping it adds funtionality too. Otherwise as far as I can tell, the merchant profession is pretty sucky (even though it's the one I want to do
)
