when I'm browsing my schematics in my datapad, some of them say I need a specialized crafting kit and a crafting station?

How the heck do I get a specialized crafting kit?

You can buy them on the bazaar or make them with the Generic Tool kit.

To create certain types of higher level crafted items, you need to craft specific crafting kits (Clothing and Armor, Food & Chemicals, etc.) as the trusty old Generic won't cut it. You can make any of them with the Generic, so I wouldn't buy one unless you absolutely have to. Crafting them also gives you XP and you can even craft some for sale on Bazaar, if it isn't flooded with that stuff already. You should be able to survey or barter for any of the materials you need to create the Specific kits. Hope this helps

but it wont let me use the crafting station.

You don't "use" a crafting station. You just need to stand next to a crafting station and your "specialized crafting tool" of whatever varity is appropriate (crafting station and tool should match).
