Thread: is crafting experience supposed to be jacked up?
i was just wondering.. it seems as tho the way experience is delt for crafting, is somewhat off..
if the more complex an item is, shouldnt you get more crafting experience? i mean, if i make a simple little gun mod and get 40 experience, and then make a harvester which requires 100 times more materials, but i still get 40 experience? i would think the more complex or larger item you build .. the more experience you get.
this is only a thought, was wondering if anyone esle felt the same way?
I just got to being a weaponsmith not too long ago. I haven't paid very close attention, but if you build a D17 Pistol, you have to build: a grip, a barrel tip, a scope, then the actual pistol itself. When you do,you get around 500 weapon crafting xp. So, this meanssince you built a total of four objects (grip, barrel, scope, gun), it averages around 125 xp per unit.
I think this is the case for building armor as well. Once you're done constructing the armor plate and fiberplast sheets, then building the actual piece, you get a lot more than just 40 xp per unit built.
LOL, it's not supposed to be 'jacked up', but it is working as intended.
There was a post on usage XP by holo on the beta boards, and how it works, I wish that it would be reposted.
Many of the items made by crafters don't pay out full XP until the item is used, and then it is over time, unless it's expendable or a component. I'm still a little fuzzy on the exact mechanics of it, since I only occasionaly grind (master artisan here, and I haven't felt the need to). But I seem to get most of my crafting experience when I am offline.
