Okay, I'm new to the Artisan missions so bare with me. I get that you need to survey for a specific element. Now how much do you need too collectand can you survey for it anywhere?

You dont need to collect any. You just need to find a certain concentration of the mineral or whatever at least 512m away from that mission termial, and you get your money!

But how do I know what metal it is. It does not say on the misson screen what i have to find, it only says metal. But what type of metal do I have to find or do i search for then all?

If it simply says metal, or let's say gas, then you just have to find any metal. So just go down the line of metals in your survey device until you find the percentage you need. Then just stand on top of that resource and survey and it should give you the mission.

The higher difficulty missions will pay more and be more specific. IE instead of "Metal" you need to find "Non-ferrous Metal." Unfortunately you get harder missions by being a combat profession and equipping your best weapon.

Read the percentage as "at least x%" so if you need to find a metal with 66% then a 75% will work just as well as a 69%.
