Thread: does quality matter on master artisan components?

I recently hit master artisan, and would like to start factory creating the master artisan components, only I've been getting mixed answers to the question whether or not the quality of the created component takes any role in the endquality of the product it's used in by other professions.

Can anyone here verify whether or not this is true?

Thanks a lot

Yours is a very good question, and one I have been trying to determine for myself. When you craft something that must be made from other components does it really make a difference if the individual components are crafted of quality materials and experimented up?

Lets look at a Micro-Sensor suite as an example, because it also has 'optional' components as well. I tend to make a lot of these things, and really hate making them by hand, so I use a factory to do the laborious duties. I made a run of 50 Micro sensor suites (Lot A) made the 'fast' way with no experimentation, using sub standard materials, and with no extra components. I then made a run of 50 DeLuxe Micro sensor suites (Lot B) made with all the extras, the highest quality materials, and every component experimented on for maximum quality/durability. When you look at the Micro sensor suites from Lot A next to those from Lot B, you see no difference... NONE. If I had not added the word 'DeLuxe' to the crafted name there would be no way to tell one from another.

Now I am a DE, and have a friend who is an architect. So we did an experiment. I crafted some probots and advanced probots using micro sensor suites from Lot A and Lot B alternately. My friend did the same crafting some private crafting stations. I found that my results for probots and advanced probots were not influenced in any way by the quailty of the micro sensor suites. However, my friend claimed that there was a GREAT increase in quality with the private crafting stations when using the DeLuxe Micro sensor suites (Lot B).

Better control units do seem to make a difference with weapons.

The answer would be yes. I've tried that with making a few STIMPAK B, which uses 3 additional componets.

I failed on experiment on the 2 of the 3 components. The final result I was successful. Came out with only 15 charges.

I test again...sucessful on 3 of 3 components and the final result was also successful. Came out with 25 charges. Exact same material.

Tried a few time...same result...

I agree, the answer is yes. Imade a bunch of control units and micro suites for an architect friend of mine. I used the best materials I could find, destroyed anything below "great success" in mix and experimentation. I gave him the ones that came out with the top exp numbers (there was some slight variation). He made me a new personal crafting station with some of them. That personal crafter is ranked about +38 and he says the best he could get before with average parts was less than half that. The problem here is that the components do NOT indicate their level / rank when you examine them. So my friend has me make all his, because he can't tell how good the ones are on the bazaar without that information. And he is getting alot of requests for personal crafters. He can't afford to buy a suite on the bazaar for 500 cr because it might be junk, which would make his end product junk.
