can anyone tell me what's the best item to grind for general crafting exp? I have the artisan tree up to 4-2-3-4 so which item is the best for exp grinding besides bone armor? any help would be appreciated.

I used the Clothing and Armor Crafting tool. You get 65XP for that without practice mode. Im sure you can make any of the crafting tools for the same amount but thats what I did.

Now I am on my way up the Architect Profession. I got 1055XP for making a crafting station in Practice mode, is there something that can do better than that?

The best xp to resource ratio I've found so far suprisingly is tents a basic camp kit will give u 26 pts on practice mode and only uses 6 resources (4 hide 2 bone) thats a 4 to one ratio everything else is around 2 to 1. Also it only takes about 3 seconds to craft...If u can get up to survival 2 on the scout tree u can get mutiperson camp kit which gives you 57 or so for 12 resources (8 hide 4 bone) and it only takes 7 seconds to craft

Eek, grinding architect? You realize you need 352k xp for each of the 4 lines? that is 1408k total xp which means you need approx 704k resources to get it. Are you prepared to grind that many resources? My suggestion is to make wall modules, you will one day use them in your factories and larger homes and each wall module you complete is worth a good bit of xp, and the finished product is actually useful to you when you get orders for larger homes and factories you will already have some of the peices made, so you can produce the item quicker than someone without 3 or so of those things made Just an idea, because grinding to architect would kill me if i didnt get SOMETHING back out of it remember, we need more xp than the other crafting lines to reach master.

Try making Reinforced Combat Staffs. In practice mode they give around 82 or so XP. That's what I did.

I just bought buttloads of wood. Some dude was selling 1500 units for 2000 at the bazaar which was a great deal. And made plain Wood Staffs 30 something exp and 16 wood, only one item to use. Worked best for me.

heh thx for the tips everyone. i grinded basic camps, mineral survey devices, high quality camps, and wire mesh traps all with the practice button. THANK YOU PRACTICE AND ENTER BUTTON! grinding is boring with all the clicking, the clicking, THE CLICKING! ........sorry. anyway grinding wire mesh traps gave easy exp and since i had a load of hide and bone it was a good deal with the exp it was giving. now all I have to worry about is the survival exp...........o god.........185k survival exp...........the horror......

Well I found a way to get general crafting 40 xp without using any resources.

Goto the Artisan Mission Terminal.

List missions, click on the crafting tab.

Choose 2 missions that start less than 50 meters from where you are.

Run to the people, they give you the schematic and parts to build something.

Build it, goto data pad and abort mission and destory the item. Run back and repeat.

80xp for running a few feet not using any of your resources..

Still slow going though.

Soft undershirts. Gives you 90 exp. But you need 30 fibre and some polymers. But only two resouces.

Bone armor chest plates. It uses bone and hide, which can be expensive, but I harvested my own, which also helped me grind up the scout tree.

I did axes I dont know if this has changed in XP since its been awhile, but it only uses wood and steel.

Solar Survey Device, uses only metal (which if you have a harvester you probably have lots of). Uses 16 metal and gives 33exp.

I only used those because I had a lot of really terrible steel that I wouldn't dare use in something I was actually selling.

Survival XP is pretty easy to get IMO, I have soon reached Survival 4 w/o working on it. I haven't been "grinding" survival XP, only made camps when out in the field (for example when . If you are doing some crafting (and don't need a crafting station) or sampling, do it in a camp and you will get the surv Xp fast enough.
