Thread: tool effectiveness stat please explain
When crafting one...I tried a few times with low quality resources vs high quality resources. I seem to get a lower rating on high quality resources than using low quality resources to create the crafting tool.
I even tried with a crafting station and add a few bonus points to the effective values, same result.
The higher the tool effectiveness of the crafting tool the better your experimentation will be, and you’ll have a higher chance of success. It works. I use tools that were experimented up to 96% effectiveness.
Crafting stations also effect your experimentation. So check out the effectiveness of the crafting station. If it’s low or in the negative get another one.

If you’re tying to make a good crafting tool Overall Quality doesn’t matter. Look at the schematic and it tells you what resource attributes need to be high. For crafting tools it’s Conductivity and Unit Toughness. But here’s the tricky part only one component slot needs to be filled with high Conductivity metal the other two get filled with high Unit Toughness resources. You’ll have to learn through trial and error what components slots need what resource attributes. You can guess what they need by their titles, there is a rhyme and reason to it.
Resource attributes effect different experiment attributes. For a Tool Effectiveness, Experimental Effectiveness when you’re on the experimentation screen, on crafting tools you’ll need a high conductivity metal--copper. High Unit Toughness effects the Durability, Experimental Durability, of the crafting tool. Although right now crafting tools don’t decay.
Here’s on last bit of information. Experimentation will max at: Resource Attribute / 1000. Say the item you’re making needs conductivity for the Experimental Effectiveness of the item. If you use a metal with 927 conductivity the highest you can experiment too is 92% Experimental Effectiveness.
