Thread: Finding a good place to harvest resources

Is there some trick to tracking down high concentrations of resources, or do you just kinda pick a random spot, follow it till the end, and if it's too low try somewhere else?
I'm trying to get a good spot to put a harvester for low grade or on Talus, but the most I seem to be able to find is about 50%, which is pretty low.
Anything that helps me know where to start in finding a good place to put one would help a lot.

Finding resource sopits is completely random - They vary by size and concentration and i thin you have to be systematic when looking for spots.
HAving siad that there a re a few things to bear in mind
Max concentration for resources vary
Gas/Chemicals often as high as 95%
Minerals - 80% is doing well - there are occasional exceptional spots of 90% but it is very rare.
Ore Water - often around 55-65%. I personally have never found a higher spot but have heard of 70%> THese are equivlaent to 90% for minerlas id say
Flora 70-80% with very rare 90% spots.
Only other tip i can think of is make sure you have survey 4 becuase you are gonna need the 320m range

the only thing i would add would be to try a number of planets as im sure the concentration and type may vary from planet to planet, some planets however like Lok, Tatooine, and Talus, i have found have the same type or resources from time to time. i can only varify this about radioactive thou, any other resources i am unsure of.

usually the same ore will appear on multiple planets so if you can't find a good spot on talus, the same ore may be on corellia for example. if the listing for a particular ore is up to date,each planet thatthe ore appears on will be listed on www.swgcraft.com. this site is not always up to date mind you but it isn't usually that far off, itdepends on how diligent the surveyors on your server are about putting that data up. and it iseasier than planet hopping alot for something basic you might need.
from my experience most ore spots don't get all that high, above 60% is pretty good.
