Thread: Why do i get less survey xp once i get survey III than when i had survey II?

i have been surveying in coronet all night. when i had survey II i was getting 30-40 xp each survey. now after getting survey III i'm only getting 20-25 xp each time and 2x the xp is needed for survey IV and it seems like i have less successful attempts!
It is going to take me at least 6 hours or longerjust to grind through survey IV. thx to this 10-20% decrease in xp once i got survey III.
is this a bug?
does anyone know if there is a anyway to get more than 20 xp for each successful sample attempt?
at the rate i have been going it has taken me around 3-4 hours for each 5k survey xp i have gotten, and it took me less than 10 min to craft through the other 3 artisan trees.

Is what your pulling now a lower concentration?

I think you are surveying crappy material that are good for only 1 and 2. Try other resources and other planets, you might get better luck.

If you have access to action, quickness and stamina buffs, and some brandy, you could "stack" several of those high concentration surveys (the ones that cost 300 action) together. Sometimes works, sometimes doesnt. XP rolls in pretty fast that way.

I'm level 3 Surveying and I've recently been sampling on an 89% patch of Fiberplast. I'm getting between 20 and 35 xp each time I take a successful sample. I'm not sure how the XP is calculated, but it seems to be slightly random. For example, finding a high concentration more often than not gives me a large sample and roughly 25xp, but a low concentration will give me around 35xp! weird.
