Well I made a bothan especially for artisan on my second account. My guild mate laughed at my then master artisan and asked why i didnt go human or mon cal or zabrak or rodian for the bonuses. And that bothans have no crafting bonuses and would never compete in marketplace. Should I delete this toon and make a new one (only took me a few hrs for master art)? I know I could get tapes and such to enhance skills, but would still be as good as a stock mon cal's skill bonuses...

any info would be appreciated.

Don't listen to those who tell you certain species can't be viable in certain professions.

There are bonuses in certain areas for all the species, but the game is specifically designed to make it possible for all species to be viable in any professions.

You can add clothing attachements and crafters aprons to be better at your profession as well. (Rather than laughing, perhaps your guildies coud help you obtain some of those things?) These would put you above the averagepoints a human or a mon calamari Master Artisanmight receive for crafting.

It's like saying that Trando's make the best TKA's because they receive a bonus in unarmed damage, or that Twi'leks make the best Entertainers because they have bonuses to healing. It's simply not true--many of the best members of professions are species that have no bonuses in that area. Go with a species you like and you can be viable regardless of what your profession is.

Slarti is my Master Artisan/Master DE/Master Architect/Merchant. None of which are good with his abilities. He stands about 3'5" and i love using /growl and /bark with him. I could have gone 14 point artisan with a human. But bothans are so rare and fun to play.

I am a human master artisan and to tell you the honest truth I find no bonus except for fewer skill tapes and that you can be +14. +14 doesn't mean you are making better things. I have found with the best resources your gonna max your experimention percent.

If you like being a Bothan cool. Enjoy the game .

i agree that a bothan anything is a good idea, having said this humans do get the potential to be 14 point artisans, ther is a downside though, msot of the easy to sell artisn itmes hav eonyl 1 experimentaiton line and you cna usually max it with jsut 10 points (ive got a human artisan and a point elft over is normal whne im crafting as an artisan)

If you don't have a never ending quest for all things uber, don't worry about a thing. You can still be competetive in the market.

If you seek the truth, you will find it.
