Anybody else frustrated by how clueless he is about the realities of being an artisan? And his overly simplistic solutions to problems he does not understand?

TH has been an active part of the community since the game was concieved. He has been playing the game before there were any professions, when all you could do was run around on tatooine with no structures, cities or anything. I think he knows about the mechanics of the artisan profession, its not rocket science.

Actually, by his own admission he knows almost nothing about any of the crafting professions.

It is statements like this...

Well they have to get from place to place -- that's the threat. My PA has created its "city" about 2400m from Keren, on Naboo. We don't have a shuttleport or mounts or vehicles at this point. For me, the 2400m walk is boring ... although occasionally even I run into trouble with Narglatches or Rogue Fambaas. But for our crafters it's a really difficult journey.

A lot of crafters have to get around, and have trouble as is. They can't always rely on someone like me to be their escort.

There arent "a lot" of Overt Crafters and only Covert Crafters with TEFs are in that sort of threat....

Statements like this show a complete lack of understanding of the artisan profession, but also shows a complete lack of understanding of how the game works in general.

Since when do narglatches and fambaa belong to a faction?????

I am not sure which statement or statements of his has provoked this comment, but, from my understanding of his job description, it does not really require an intimate knowledge of any of the professions. That is what the corespondents are there for. They are the ones who know what needs to be fixed in their profession. They tell TH, and he tells the developers. Then he is supposed to let us know what the developers have decided, if they ever bother to tell him.

He meant that they are the 2 agressive types of creatures on Naboo, that will attack on sight. He probably would have included tusk cats if he remembered them too. But also, he implied that true crafters cannot really defend themselves from attacks from these creatures.

No no no, I was talking about Thunderheart's response to Philosopher's post. Philosopher is 100% correct. It was TH's response that was idiotic. I guess I should have been more specific.

Fambaa, tusk cats, etc do not belong to a faction, so overt and covert do not apply.

No idea what you mean. The only real "unavoidable" danger is indeed from factional mobs: put on your maskscent and most (if not all) danger (aside from factional mobs) whilst travelling is gone. Looks to me that Philosopher1976 has no idea about the crafter classes.

This post also overlooks TH primary means of informaiton. He cannot be expected to be knowledgable in every profession. His goal is to interface with the corespondents. The coorespondents are the more knowledgable, and even they dont know everything about the profession. They gather the information, problems, issues, and whatnot and through the coorespondent program pass this along to TH.

Thus TH may may make occational blunders but dont we all? Your pimary contact for problems should be through the corespondent of the profession. This allows for a coherent, well-thought out discussion of the problems and the best means to get things fixed.

While I can understand that TH won't know the details of every profession, understanding the dangers of travel that affects many or most crafters is a pretty large thing to miss. Nonetheless, it seems like something the correspondents can educate him about. If he refuses to understand after they explain the issue, then I'd be upset. But while his statement is a bit clueless, I don't think he's meanhearted. It's a big big game and there's an awful lot to understand.

Then TH should be man enough to admit when he is wrong and not just continue to spin the information or play off his comments.

Correspondents are quitting, because they are being ignored.
