hi i currently have artisan 3024 and i'm thinking of dropping it completly, can anyone tell me if i will lose the ability to put up harvesters if i do?

You will not lose the ability to set up or maintain your harvesters. The only thing you'll lose if you drop it completely is the ability to survey for resources, so you'll need to either hire someone to survey for you, or just try to drop them near other mining farms.

I would suggest you do a transition at first - try dropping all of the other skills in artisan, and hold onto the surveying until you really need the points. That is what I did when I retired as a Master Architect / Master Artisan, and it seems to be working so far (although I will be cutting into the survey line soon).
