I doubt there's anyone playing who doesn't want to attain an Elite Profession. As one reads through the boards, it becomes obvious that there are may ways in getting the various xp needed to climb up the ladder of the skills tree. HOWEVER, the topic of apprenticeship xp either hasn't been addressed or is buried deep in all the posts. So, if it's been asked, then I'm sorry for the redundancy. Otherwise, here's the question:

How does one get apprenticeship xp?

One needs 620 apprenticeship xp to get from the "Starting Profession" to an "Elite Profession". Obviously I've got artisan xp coming out my backside, but am lacking the apprenticeship xp to get to the Master Artisan level. I've tried offering to pay people to let me train them, but have only adquired 90 aprenticeship xp over the past month or so (and playing about 10 hours per week which will go down now that the new fall seaon is getting started). I don't want to wait around waiting for people to come by asking for training so I'm getting xp in other skills (like those that help you not get killed so easily). Any suggestions for getting apprenticeship xp would be much appreciated.

You get apprentice XP every time you train a skill to another player. To train them, you must 1. have the skill 2. the person you are training must qualify for the skill 3. Group with them 4.select train from the radial menu.

Just remember that you can teach any skill you know (except for the novice boxes) so don't restrict yourself to artisan training only.

Not quite accurate- you do need the apprentice XP to become a master of a profession. If you want to move on to weaponsmith/tailor etc... justthe 4th rank in the appropriate tree, and a bunch of general crafting XP's all that's required.

It really helps getting apprentice XP if you've got a wide base of skills, scout and medic are very usefuland you can always surrender later if the skill points are needed (Gawd, how I miss terrain negotiation).
