Thread: What is the hardest elite to grind???????
What macro is it that you're speaking of? I've been looking around for a macro to get to master artisan quickly; could you tell me what your macro is?
As far as I know, the hardest to grind would definately be Droid-Engineer.
Hardest: DE (most time consuming)
Easiest: Architect (if you have the resources, that is)
BioEngineer requires that you craft 4858 Micro-Nutrient Suppliments. These require meat which cannot be harvested in the usual manner and can cost (depending on your server) up tp 15 cpu.
Doing this will get you 3 of the 4 lines. Number 4 is DNA sampling which requires you to walk up to large things and poke them in the behind with a long needle. This will often cause them to become upset. Then they hurt you.
As far as I know (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), no Chef's oven ever went aggro on him.
Before you flame...let me say that I understand Chef is a difficult profession, and one I have no really understanding of, but I think BE is the toughest.
The chef line is pretty hard. The xp requirements are a bit lower than DE, but the amount you can earn is about half for chef's best grind items. Doing everything in practice mode, you'll end up making a minimum of 1039 Wastril bread and 4174 Ithorian Mists.
I just did the math for armorsmith (since that's what my holo said), and it looks like if I stick to what I can make without requiring a tailor (for Synth cloth or Reinforced panels), it'll take 1868 armor upgrade kits and 4757 Ubese shirts. Although checking through the schematic list, PSG components look grindable, although they do need a private crafting station.
Let's see, to get to Blueprints II in DE needs 807 mouse droids (in practice mode). Then grinding Advanced frames, another 2307 combines.
A post in the weaponsmith forum (linked in their stickied grind post that all profession boards seem to have) says that Master WS can be done in 1779 combines. It's getting late, I won't check his math.
Tailor: 1394 ribbed shirts, 687 cartridge belts, 2081 combines (numbers from their grind FAQ sticky).
Architect: No info available on grind path, but with xp requirements about 20% higher than DE but huge resource requirements (which I'm assuming means lots of xp per item), I'd assume this is faster than DE.
Summary, required number of items you need to craft to reach master box:
Armorsmith: 6625 (less if you have a source of synth cloth and RFP)
Chef: 5213
Droid Engineer: 3114
Tailor: 2081
Architect: ???
Weaponsmith: 1779
So, if you stick with items needing no components you can't craft yourself, Armorsmith is probably the toughest grind, followed by Chef.
/sigh I am such a math nerd...
I completely forgot to check the BE crafting, since it sounded like the original post was asking about elite professions above Artisan. I didn't mean to imply that it was easy by leaving it out. Yikes, that sucks, especially the meat requirement. I know how hard it is to get large quantitites of even grind-quality stuff.
And I've never had an oven aggro on me, but there have been a few times I thought my vibroknife was more interested in opening one of my veins than dicing Tubers. Maybe I should look into a food processor... ![]()
