But since you had to make the biscuits to stuff yourself silly, in RL, wouldn't you become a better cook since you would know the best way to make them?
Just because someone's a big fat pig doesn't mean they can't get good at crafting food. I'm sure Dom DeLouise is a hell of a cook.
I think that you actually do get UXP for using your own stuff. I'm almost 100% certain that you get UXP for using your own fishing pole and using your own weapons, as well as your own surveying tools and crafting tools--I'm also pretty sure that you're not supposed to.
I know that they supposedly nerfed the UXP for using your own components in more advanced items that you craft, though.
