Can somebody post a rough comparison on Maintenance Cost and Extraction Rates for the Personal, Medium and Large Harvesters. For example here's what my experience tells me about the Personal Harvesters..

Personal Harvester
24 Hours Maintenance = 750c
24 Hours Power = 600u
Deed Reclaimation = 1500c
The Harvester extracts approx. 3000 units on a 90% deposit over 24 hours.

What are these stats for the Medium and Large Harvesters?

I think you extraction figures are wrong, I only get like 1.2ka day from my harvestors. One is at 92% one is at 94%.

If thats the case your harvesters are bugged.

Yah that can't be right, Robofish. I have 7 chemical personal harvesters and each of them extract more than 2000 units per day on an 83% deposit.

So can anyone tell me what your averages are for extract, power and maintenance on the Medium and Large harvesters?

www.swgcraft.com Go to tools, harvester calculator.

Rule of thumb, from Personal - Medium- Heavy everything doubles each step up except the lot size which stays at one.

Basically, for fuel consumption, maintainance cost, and how much material the machine is capable of collecting:

1 medium = 2 small harvesters.

1 large = 3 small harvesters.

All harvesters use one lot.

For generators:

Small (wind), medium (solar), and large (fusion) all cost one credit per minute to run (maintenance cost 30, 1440 a day.) The ratio of material produced is 5:8:13 (less than doubling each time, but the cost doesn't increase.) Every level has a more efficient cost of production than the last.

For harvesters:

Small uses 1 credit every two minutes (maintenance cost 15, 720 a day.) Medium uses 1 credit every minute (maintenance cost 30, 1440 a day.) Large uses 3 credits every 2 minutes (maintenance cost 45, 2160 a day.)

Power use progresses similarly: 1x, 2x, 3x. x is 600.

The ratio of small to medium to large is 2:4:7. It double between small and medium, just as price does. Between medium and large it doesn't quite double, but it does increase faster than the cost. The cost to produce one unit of material at a given concentration is the same between small and medium, but medium pulls it up *faster*. The cost to produce a unit decreases for large.

Note that the larger the footprint of a building, the more significant slope becomes when placing it. Larger harvesters will often have to be placed at slightly lower resource densities because of this.

there is a good harvestor calculator at swgcraft and can be found here http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~swgcraft/harvtool.php

From the way it seems, mediums are not worth getting over small, while large certainly is worth the upgrade (if you can afford it )

As stated above, heavy harvesters are the most efficient in terms of cost per unit produced. Mediums essentially function as a pair of small (personal) harvesters, except they take more space. The reason to switch from small to medium? If you only have one wind generator and three personal harvesters... there isn't one. Mediums come into play when you place a house, a factory, a generator, and then have a limited number of structure lots left over, but can't afford heavies.

My setup (as an architect, I made everything I own except the medium house)

-Medium House (2 lots)

-Structure Factory (2 lots)

-Solar Generators (2 x 1 lot each)

-Mineral Mining Installation [medium] (4 x 1 lot each)

-Heavy Mineral Mining Installation (Placed by a friend, I maintain it and collect the resources)

All totalled this comes to somewhere in the neighborhood of 13k per day in maintenance fees. Also, I highly recommend asking a non-artisan friend to place a harvester or two for you if you find yourself in need of more.
