Thread: What is a fair price to charge per hide or bone?
I have heard 5 credits per hide or bone. Does that sound right?
I think anywhere between 3-5 is fair. For novice artisen's who are trying to make quality armor the most important stats are Overall, Shock, and Maliability. So base your price on those stats. Do you have a good quality set? Charge 5. Is your set only worth grinding? Charge 3.
Also, I'd be willing to pay a little more for larger bundles. It's a pain to have to deal with anythig over 500. If possible always try to see in batches of 500 to 1000. They go quick when your making bone armor.
Just so thoughts.

I sell them for between 3-5 depending on who it is. Typically I ask if someone is buying and then what they pay rather than name a price to them. One bloke was paying 8. He got all my hides that day. ![]()
2-3cr per is fair, people will any price cause grinders are pathetic.
I often buy at lt 1cr per small amounts 50-200 from Bestine, thanks whoever.
The great thing about the SWG economy is that it's a true market environment - you can charge whatever price people are willing to pay. Pay attention to the "time left" on auctions on the bazaar. Stuff that's been up for several days, and therefore has only a few days remaining, is probably overpriced. If, however, everything for sale says "6 days remaining" then you might be able to charge a bit more and still find buyers.
As abuyer (armorsmith), I can tell you that I personally look for prices below 3ea when I'm looking for grinding fodder that's just going to be burned up, and I ususally don't get excited unless it's below 2. However, if the hide or bone is of good quality and would be worth using in an actual production item, then I'd be willing to pay considerably more. Pay attention to the stats of what you're selling, and charge a premium for the best quality goods.
it really depends on the quality and typeof the hide/bone.
check out the examine window, if its got high quality you can beef up the price. also, some artisans require specific types of hide, for example Architects need wooly hides to build some furnitures.
3 cr is NOT fair in my opinion. I buy metal for 3 cr. Metal is FAR easier to get, all you need is a harvestor.
Charge at LEAST 5. I personally think a fair price is a little higher than that. Hide and bone gets lumped in with the other resources and people expect similar prices for it, but you have to hunt for it, and that SHOULD make it worth a lot more.
