That is exactly what I was thinking about weaponsmith and armorsmith. No one wants a novice crafted gun. But again, this isn't really anout making money, just about fun. I enjoy crafting, and I have plenty of other income with slicing and spices. I'd like to stay away from chef and tailor, they just don't sound as fun to me. What about Droid Engineer? I hear its severly bugged but what is the crafting like? I could go up the tree that gives me more droids and by the high end components from masters that I know.

Go architect then. You will never be able to do anything that good with the other profession.

3-3-0-4 Droid Engineer is actually very effective. You can craft all of the chassis, 3 of the 4 crafting stations (never sold a structure crafting droid, has anybody), decent medical module, decent storage modules, and you can make advanced probot's with full armor.

I went all the way to master because I'm a glutton for punishment.

I recently got into to the crafting world and have quickly mastered artisan. I've been playing for a while and am a Master smuggler and pistoleer, so I'm not really looking for best income, just looking for the most bottom heavy elite crafting profession. I won't have the skill points to master, or even get very close to master. Just novice and a few levels past that. Which do you think is best, i.e. can make the best stuff and have the most fun doing it at the lower levels, weaponsmith, armorsmith, droid engineer, or architect?

Elite crafts are DESIGNED to discouraged dabbling, so you'll have a hard time here.

Whatever it is, it is DEFINITELY NOT weaponsmith. Weaponsmithing is a profession where if you're not Master, your crafts are considered worthless. Completely. So don't go there.

Armorsmiths also appear to be a Master-only profession.

Architect is top-heavy also; but novice crafts are in demand from Masters, who need tons of the stuff but don't have time to do it themselves. You can make a good living making wall modules and whatnot.

I would recommend Chef. At 0020 you can already make basic Tattooine Sunburns.

Tailors require only one skill tree to get Experimentation +90, so that's pretty good too.

Merchant is always fun if you sell stuff.

You can do tailor and sell crates of sythetic cloth (novice) and reinforced fiber panels (field wear 2). Armorsmiths need that for crafting armor.

Makes me angry everytime I run out. Always tempted to do tailor myself.
