Thread: Most Profitable Profession to service?

Through the use of resource harvestors, who would you feel is the most profitable to supply resources to... Doctors? Weaponsmiths? Armorsmiths? I have found myself being run ragged trying to service all of the above, not to mention the occasional Bio-Engineer and Chef. In order to enjoy the game more, I'd like to specialize in servicing one and only one profession. I'm also a Ranger, so I tend to lean away from Weaponsmiths (they don't need meats, hides, or bones), so that may have some effect on my thinking. I've also tried to go after the current 'uber' resource, but that is a lot of work to keep up with current events. What does everyone think?

The best way to make money doing resources is to stockpile on something but don't sell it until well after it's gone. From what I've seen and what everyone says, a resource that passes from the server is gone for good. If they can't get it from anyone but you, they'll be willing to pay more.

You may also hit on a surprise windfall, as new content is added. There has been talk of adding new items for various trees for quite some time. New items may require new minerals and chemicals (and hide, bone, etc) that are not needed now.

Good luck.

Did a little extra research and I'm leaning towards the bulk steel/fiberplast/inert perto idea... with a shift to any 'uber' resource that pops up in the galaxy for 'safekeeping'. I thought that maybe Armorsmiths were the way to go, since all the combat classes are always looking for good armor. I assumed that ASes were among the richest professions in the game. To keep it as simple as possible I was just going to throw all my harvester down on the same site... easier to maintain, a lot less running, etc. If anyone wants to share any ideas on this please post or send me a forum message. Thanks in advance, and thank you for all the wonderful advice so far.

Don't try TOO hard to catch the "resource of the week" or such.

Just slowly stockpile, selling off parts as you go- it can take a month or more to get to the point where you have something to offer everyone.

Stockpiling is the key to success. Trying to keep your collected resources constantly bought out is an exercise in frustration and exhaustion.

Make it easy on yourself. Sell steel, fiberplast, andinertperto. All professions need it, and it does not matter which kind you get.

You can dabble in iron and copper, but only if you find some high grade ones.

I too assume that Armorsmiths are the richest players in the game. But it seems a lot of weaponsmiths are loaded with multi-millions too.
