I've been crafting for the past year and have thouroughly enjoyed almost every aspect of the process. I am now looking at branching off in Artisan Level foods (Blob, Bofa, etc). I've noticed that most of the schems call for resources to have high DR/FL/PE/OQ. While this is possible, finding them is fairly difficult. I had been told that not all categories are needed in all resources when crafting foods. A friend said that if you use a resource with high stats in one part you can slough off on the other resources in that same category so long as the cover all the categories at some point with high stat resources. Is this true? Do I not have to look for resources with 800-1000 stats in all 4 categories, maybe just one or two so long as I hit all the categories with at least one ingredient with high stats in that category?

Is there a thread or site that will accurately predict the outcome of a food based on stats that we can enter?

Any and all help is appreciated on this.

If you go to the "Read This" post on the chef forum, there's a link to "Sciguy's Electronic Cookbook".

It's a spreadsheet I put together to try to conglomerate all the various bits and tools I had been using with regard to food crafting. One of them is probably what you're looking for: select the food (resources fill in automatically), and enter the resource stats. It'll predict the max experimentation percentage in each category with a pretty high accuracy, the initial percentage (assuming you get a great success) with a little less accuracy, and translate those percentages into resulting food stats (even less accurate due to the difficulty in determining food min/max values, but still probably within 3-5%). It's even got a section where you can enter in the number of experimentation points you want to spend in each category and see how the final result will look.

It doesn't take the new entertainer buffs into account, but if you wanted to compare the effect of the artisan buff, multiply all the stat values of your resources by 1.01 and enter those numbers instead.

It requires either Excel or some other spreadsheet program compatible with Excel (I've heard OpenOffice works, but I haven't used it myself).
