When you find schematics and you learn them, like the AV21, do you then know how to build the AV21 forever or does the schematic dissapear after you built one?

I'm curious about this too, as well as where to find some of these new schematics.

It depends on the schematic.

Almost all the looted schematics are "limited use", so after making X prototypes or schematics, the schematic is deleted from your datapad. For the AV21, I believe it's single use. Other schematics (crafter's apron, dancer's leotard, scythe) have a limit of 3, and also require looted components so you can't do a factory run. There are also a few foudn schematicsthat have limited uses, but either require no components (paintings) or require components that are player-craftable (I believe the lightweight FWG falls into this category), so a crafter can do factory runs of these, one run for each use remaining on the schematic.

The only looted schematic that I've heard about that is permanent is the Mandalorian Wine found on some Death Watch NPCs. But since I'm not sure if those NPCs were even supposed to be spawning until the Bunker goes Live in mini-publish 8.2, that might've been a bug. Oh, and I guess the dead eye decoder was a permanent schematic too, I've still got it in my datapad from my failed attempt to contact Dr. Vacca. Of course, I did only craft the one decoder...

===edit for more info===

The location of the schematics is pretty variable. The crafter's apron, dancer's leotards, and lightweight FWG are gained during the Jabba's theme park. The AV21 is a reward for completing the Correlian corvette. The scythe schematic is in a treasure chest in the Krayt graveyard (complete an NPC quest from Mos Entha for the treasure map, but be able to handle/distract a junior canyon Krayt). Others are either quest rewards (I believe both the Imperial and Rebel themeparks have a few) or drop randomly from NPCs (usually the high-level ones like Nightsisters).

Can anyone confrim or deny if the AV21 schematic is one-use only?

I believe its a Two use scheme. I am 90% sure of this. Can't tell you 100% till I get two power plants and try and make them. But from what other people have told me, you can use it two times.

As a Master Artisan who has built a couple of these AV-21's, I can guarantee you that the schematic is for 1 (ONE) use only.
