Thread: What a CSR told me about my crafting tool **coorespondant**
Crafting tools do have conditions. However, this condition does not display. However, when you clone, each crafting tool has a % number listed next to it. When that % reaches 0, you can no longer use it.
Sounds like 2 or your CSRs had the correct answer for you. And first one told you to wait till a server reset (because you can jam up your crafting session if you craft while crossing a server zone) also was good advise.
So the game is working as intended. You had a broken tool. And now you have a new one that works. What is the problem? (other than tool durability not showing)
I have had this problem happen to me too. My crafter alt. has never died so i knew cond. was not the problem.
I finally discovered that it only happens to me when i use tools that i made myself. I had a buddy who is also MA make me a crate and i haven't had the problem since.
I have had this problem a few times too and been able to find a way around the problem.
Most of the times this has happened to me is when i had a station in my inventory.
The fix, I've used is to drop my tool, then pick it back up. /shrug Seems to work fine after that.
Squidwalker wrote:So I started getting an error message with weapon, droid and general crafting tool. "Failed to start crafting session". No other messages. So first thing I do is check to see if the hopper is needs to be emptied, nope. So I log out, and back in, nope. I borrow one from a friend, and it works OK.At this point I try a KB search and find nothing pertaining to the problem. So I open up a Ticket. The first resopnce, a day later, is to waite 24 hours, and try again after the server reset. Of course it now has been so I try it same error. I reply back to the ticket telling them this. Another CSR responds telling me that my crafting station must be out of condition, and thus is disabled. I need a new one. I reply back telling them that crafting tools don't have condition, and the status says ready. He replies back that it must just be broken, since the one I borrowed is working ok, to just get a new crafting tool, it's not working anymore. So I bitched and moaned how, YET AGAIN a CSR tried to tell me a falicy about the game, and didn't solve my problem. Someone just pointed me to the Aritsan FAQ, and it has the exact problem there, and that they know about it, known problem, and putting in a fix. But by now I have destroyed the crafting tool, and gotten another. So, who ever the artisan cooresponant is, can you please use your contacts to bring this up to the devs? Not the problem of the crafting tools, as it seems they are on top of it. But the problem of CSR misinforming players, and costing me to buy another crafting tool. I have had CSR tell me wrong information before and 3 times in the last month. My other ticket this kind of thing happened was that I got item decay when I died from pvp faction death. The CSR told me that is supposed to happen. It's a real problem when the CSR, our problem solvers, know nothing about the game.
Hi,
Couple of quick questions and an observation:
1) Are you sure the tool had not degraded from deaths? Do you die a lot? As others have noted, even though you can't see the condition, it has one.
2) Do you have the names of the CSRs?
Observation:
I'm more than happy to take complaints about CSRs to the devs, and they listen. However, for this to work, I need to know your character's name, server, time of the event(s), name(s) of the CSR(s), and any logs you have of the event (e-mail, chat logs, etc). You can PM me that info, if needs be.
Take care,

Some of you missed the mainproblem, It was that the CSR gives out the wrong information reguarding that particalar item and they should be corrected!
A CSR give out incorrect info, can't ever imagine that happening.....

Well the CSR did not give incorrect info. The CSR gave the answer that is the typical answer to this problem. The simple fact is that there is more than one reason that this can be caused from.
