Ok, its late and im tired. I didnt search through the FAQ's for this particular Question. I just had my 2 decent sources for ORE dry up ( aka shift ). I spent the better part of 4 hours looking for another spot. I looked ALOT on naboo ( it had 4 types searchable). The concentrations ( % ) were VERY low. Is there a better method than zigzagging across the map? Is there a reason ORE is so low of a concentration? I shoot for 70% or higher ...is this too much?
Thanks!

Yes! Getting 70% of ordinary Low Grade Ore is next to impossible (well, maybe not impossble, but extremely rare). 60% is considered very good for Low Grade Ore, and most are satisfied when they get a bit over 50%.
There is one exception when it comes to low grade ore, and that is the new fermionic siliclastic ore that shipwrights need. Apparently this low grade ore can get concentrations all the way up to 90% or so.

Yes in short it is. Ore is always a lower concentration then any other materials beside wind. Personally if i see an ore spot above 50 im happy. And if it hits 60 im jumping like a school girl. Now of course JTL materials do not aply to normal ones. SO look for the Fermionic Ore and you will see concentrations go higher. And it acks like any other low quality ore

Zigzagging across the map, as you put it, is really your best bet. Naboo is a good planet to place extractors on in that much of it is flat, but the resource spawns are random so it's really just a matter of patiently searching until you find the sweet spot.
I believe ore concentrations are capped at either 70 or 80% so it's more difficult to find a very high spot. I don't mine alot of ore, but generally speaking I consider 65% acceptable for ore.
Good luck!

Just make sure you've got Survey IV, and set the max range on your survey tool in the radial menu (320m). It helps a lot of you have a vehicle, I prefer the speederbike. The best way I've found to survey is to hop off, survey, then get back on. When you're going to the survey point, go past it 50-100m, then stop, get off, and repeat.

Almost forgot, how can I tell the diference between pre and post JTL resources? Do I need a special survey device? I seem to only survey the Standard resources, or what ive assumed are the pre JTL resources.
Thanks again folks!
