Thread: Whats wrong with my Mineral survey tool?

It shows as a red square, yet I can use it and it doesnt show as anything is malfunctioning. Yet I cant explain why its a red highlight. Am I missing something?

Not sure why it does that. I have 2 surveying tools, both identical,yet one shows up as a red box.
I also have the same problem with some of the pistols I use. Some times equipping the itemthen un-equippingit will fix the red box.
other times "zoning" fixes it.
I have submitted a bug report on this issuetwice, the second time I added some of the things that seem toeffect it, but that's been about a
month agonow. Maybe next patch.......

I have this too, a little annoying, but not game breaking. I didn't think to /bug it, I will next time I am in game.

the first one you get is always red. if you make your own and you die enough for it to decay, that one you made will become red. currently survey tools to not decay to a point they no longer function so its nothing to worry about. also there is no advantage to making "good" survey tools. experimenting and using good resources to construct them has no bearing on their effectiveness.

There seems to be a /bug in game where each time you load somewhere different tools show up in inventory as redboxed. Does't really affect anything, just make sure they are still usable

I get this all the time, survey tools, crafting tools, etc. It only seems to affect the display in the toolbar. If I open my inventory the tool is OK, and it still works. I just ignore it.

Its supposed to mean an item is at 0/0 condition. But has been showing lately on things that arent at 0/0 and has been happening randomly.

My survey and crafting tools sometimes go red too. If I drag them off the toolbar and put them back, the red background goes away. Basically, it's a bug, but seeing as it has no impact on gameplay whatsoever, my guess is it's at the top of the list of bugs to fix. Just like /bo tr got fixed. WoW - there was something worth spending time on instead of fixing factories that have been bugged since launch.

I find that if you just change to a different toolbar and then come back that it will clear the red box.
However, the "inorganic survey tool" from the village always shows up in red.

I have noticed that my survey tools, most notibly the mineral survey device, goes red from time to time on my toolbar. I havent thought much about it till seeing this thread.
