Thread: Artisan help with Vendors and dropping Business skill line....
I have a house.
I have a Vendor in the house.
I had Business III (That allowed me to get the Vendor)
I now have business II (Planning on dropping the whole line)
What's going to happen to that vendor?
I dropped to Business II on Saturday. I didn't destory the Vendor and it's still there. I left maintenance on it.
I just want to know if I can use it still? I'd hate to oad up a couple hundred thousand credits worth of inventory and have it crap out.
Note: I actually use the vendor more for receiving items then selling them (Since I sell bulk medical supplies for 30k+ a crate and having them on the vendor for long periods of time costs me money)
Can anyone tell me definate on this?
thanks,
On test (as soon as they get me on the right list) correspondents can train in their profession's skills for free.
As soon as I get access to the correspondent terminals, I'll give you a definitive answer (for test server anyway

The answer I have heard for this is that you need to keep Business III in order to be able to use your vendor.
In fact, a lot of people will level themselves up to Novice Merchant, grab an NPC vendor, then drop back down to Business III to save skill points.
Thanks for reminding us about this, Groupal. Now that we have a Correspondent who can bring it to someone's attention, perhaps this will be addressed soon.
Actually we recently had a HUGE argument hereabout the ethics of this situation. Some folks felt that since it wasn't explicitly proscribed, it was acceptable; others felt that it was clearly an exploit and should be prevented through a code change.
Maybe what we really need on this is just an inter-Artisan poll: Do you think players should immediatelylose the ability to control one vendor if they surrender the Business III skill [YES/NO]?

I also agree that you SHOULDN'T be able to do this. But I'm interested in knowing whether or not it can be done.
So that I can bug it to the Devs if it works. ![]()
