I'm having a lot of difficult surveying. I understand how to use it, but all I can do is get samples and I have only been able to take samples once, all the other times there wasn't a high enough density. Can anyone help me?

Also is there anyway to get new blue-prints for my crafting tool, if I wanted to craft blasters besides the three standard ones can the be done?

Any additional tips for a newbie would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the wonderful world of crafting. If you get the "resource density too low" when you try to sample (and you're on a spot that actually shows a concentration), that means that resource has just appeared on the planet. This is a bug that's been around since launch, and hopefully the devs will get around to it someday.

You get new schematics as you get more skill boxes in Artisan (and the higher crafting classes). But I don't think you get the schematic for the next level gun until weaponsmith. Unless you specialize, you'll only be able to make CDEFs, although as you get more levels you'll be able to experiment them to be better.

How do I get a personal mineral harvestor?

Howdy.......The easiest way is to just buy one from me....

Or....If you have the appropriate level you can make one.

What level? I'm almost to Engineering II.

Engineering IIIgets you the first couple of harvesters (wind power and vaporator, I believe), and Engineering gets you the rest.
