1. You buy factories from Architects. Price differs from server to server (on on city to city on each server) but 45k seems to be a good ballpark price. At least, that's what I paid for mine

2. I believe they are 1200 cred/power a day, given PE 500 power.

3. Each type of factory produces a specific category of items, they're the same categories as the crafting tools. For powerups, you'd want an item factory. The factory can only produce from one schematic at a time, however. To change what the factory is doing, you have to stop it, swap out schematics, add the new ingredients, and start it back up again. You also have to stop production to remove items from it.

Now, to use a factory, you have to create a schematic. The first thing you'll want to do is make sure you have a TON of the specific resources you are going to use to make an item. A factory will only use the exact components you used to make the schematic in the manufacturing process. That's exact by NAME, not by class. So, if you used Lepi (nabooian fiberplast) to make the schematic, you have to use that in the ingredient hopper of the factory.

Now then, you'll also need the specialized crafting tool for the item you're going to make, and a public or private crafting station. You'll go through the normal process of making a single item up until after the experimentation phase. After experimentation is complete, if you decide that the item has the stats you want for your item, you'll press the "create manufacturing schematic" button. The schematic will be loaded into your datapad, and you're good to go.

As far as how many items to make the schematic for, you might as well make it 1000. It doesn't take any more time or resources, and If you can't get the resources necessary for it, you can always delete it.

Where do I get them and what is a good price?

How much are they to run per day? Maint. and Power?

Can a factory produce more than one type of product?

I know these are pretty basic questions but I can't seem to find the answers anywhere- there is a great calculator on SWGCRAFT.com but I don't think I'm using it right. Any info or tips on factories is greatly appreciated.
