I've been grinding a bit to gain some general crafting XP and noticed that my total general crafting XP doesn't change very often...if at all. Does what I craft determine how much XP I get when I craft it? I'm only a 1-1-2-1Novice Artisanright now and am hoping to move up but need some direction to do it right.

Thanks

The rough estimate is that you take the total number of resources for an item, then double it. That's the xp you get for crafting that item. Some things are a little off; for exampleat launch powerups gave 4x (although that was changed), smuggler spice still does give 4x, and a few items are 5-10 xp off the formula.

Since you only have one rank in the two skill branches that contain schemitics, your best bet is probably making crafting tools to get Eng II (and you can probably sell a few at 150-300 each), then repair tools until Eng III, then harvesters until you get as far as you're going in Artisan.

Also, the only items that give you General Craft xp are from schematics you actually get in Artisan. Scout camps and traps give survival/scouting(?) xp, musical instruments give Music xp, and stimpacks give Medicine crafting xp. Check your skillboxes to see where you gained your schematics.
