If factories give xp (and I'm not 100% convinced that they don't), it's such an insignificant amount that it's not worth bothering with.
If you're grinding, just get several crafting tools and craft in practice mode. You'll get more xp from crafting a single survival knife than you'll get from a factory in a day.

yeah factories XP was lowered down to about nothing back when folks when stand beside them AFK for days.
Now a days, your XP comes from crafting, period.
sure there is user XP that is just slightly more present then factory XP, so basically CRAFT for XP

Besides, if you craft an item versus having the factory do it, you'll get the joy of knowing you created more 1s and 0s with your bare 1s and 0s.

The language of computers is Basic and is composed of a series of one's and zero's, so the stuff you make on a program makes a strand of 1's and 0's.

Oh yes, it is your factory, right? You have to own the factory to get exp I believe.

Actually 1's and 0's make up the bits. Basic is a language of yesteryear

Factories stopped giving XP at the end of 2003. There was a big huff about it at the time, when we actually had a significant number of crafters.

ACTUALLY, "Basic" means nothing. "BASIC" was the old "Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code". By "Basic" I assume Hexx meant "simple" as in a descriptive word, rather than the BASIC computer language.
To get technical, the 1's and 0's computers use is called Machine Language. BASIC was (believe it or not) a "high-level" programming language.

Factories don't give xp anymore.
But if you are grinding, get and inspiration buff from an entertainer, you get a 10% bonus to crafting xp. Next, when crafting, do so in practice mode, you get an extra 5% bonus to xp for not creating the items and clogging up the database with your deleted items. Overall a 15% bonus to your crafting xp using these 2 things is pretty decent.
