First off if this has been asked before, I'm sorry for beating a dead horse and would appreciate it if someone could post a link to a former topic. Needless to say with the Search feature almost permanently screwed and lack of time to search the forums manually I figured it would be easier to just come out and ask. That being said...
Is there any significance behind the colors of the % numbers on a Survey device? Like when you're Surveying and you'll see your screen looking something like this..(sorry they aren't the exact colors but meh...you get the idea)
70% 71% 70%
72% 69% 70%
68% 70% 70%
Is there any significance behind all this or is it just to liven up the Survey devices?

Red means the concentration is increasing in that direction and blue means it's decreasing.

It used to be that you'd run out of action while surveying, so you'd have to /sit to recover the action, stand back up, and start surveying again. I'm not sure that people will run out of action now with the CU though - maybe mind. If so, then you'd eventually stop surveying and have to start again.
Other than that, you're right. Just keep from getting booted, and automatically close the pop-up boxes.

Well.. Sence there is already a topic about surveying I will just post my question here too. Why is it people use recursive Surveying macros? From what I can tell, once you start surveying, you don't stop unless you stop yourself... I can see running a macro to preven getting booted, and one to close the pop up boxes..

just find any compound with a high percentage, 80-90+...set that Survey macro floating around, and wander off to take a nap or watch TV....just - pray that ur spot is semi-safe..that worked for me

You can even sample in towns and starports. I'd just hang out in the starport, survey all of the resources, and sample whichever one has the highest concentration right where you are.
