I've not gotten to Master Artisan yet, but some of the clothes that I've made recently are showing up with an attribute they didn't have before... 1 to 3 "sockets".

What are these, and how do I make use of them?

It means the item will accept a stat enhancing "gem" that will give you some kind of bonus to your skills. These stat gems are loot only items.

I found one of these last night. It says that it gives a +1 to Rifle Accuracy....I was totally excited because I just so happen to be going for Rifleman Problem is I can't seem to get it to go in a socket I've seen "gems" before that could be applied but this one I got is different....It looks like a Bone Armor component. If anyone knows how these work please let me know.

The only one I saw looked like a bone armor segment too, and I tried to get it to socket in a wookiee hood, but could not. I even made a new one. No good. I figured wookiee clothes must be bugged with them. I wonder if you could use it as a bone armor segment?

That is a possibility Lund0529. I'm a Wookiee and my friend is one as well. He was able to use two "gems" he found but the we of a different sort.....looked like roles of tape. I did try crafting a new Tree Dwellers Hood and applying the weird one I got as an upgrade option but no go there either. I am going to be very disappointed if these can only be used in bone armor as I can not were any. I've also seen two other examples of these Skill enhancing items on the Market but no explanation of how they are used.
