I crafted a programmable die, just for the hell of it (and the XP). But, for the life of me, I'm not sure how I'd use it. Has anyone figured out if dice can be used for anything other than "OK... I roll one die, and you roll one die... and the winner gets 10,000 creds?"
I'm wondering if there is a gambler elite class in the background, that the dice are going to be a foundation of.

Do you really need an elite class to gamble? To be honest, all you gotta do is work out a system, and have people come to your "casino".
Also, dice can and will be useful for doing a lottery on loot drops when/if there are ever any high-level mobs out there that drops some uber loot.
BTW, here's an idea...if you're an artisan, why not go ahead and craft some cheap items with various numbers on them, then sell them to people as "lottery tickets". Then have a sort of drawing at some point in time where you announce the winner of the lottery.
The winner would have ot hand you the correct lottery ticket (and since you'd craft the items yourself, you'd be able to see your name on them when you examine them, hence preventing bogus winners)

That is a really cool idea, a lottery. Maybe I'll try that on Wanderhome.
