Nope... all you do is increase the complexity.

On the flip side, you get the same exp if you use crap resources versus quality resources.

Arrghhh, don't spread that around! That's all I need, is MORE +.677% Action Cost powerups cluttering up the market. If you want to sell your goods, and actually roleplay like you're a real artisan, you need to experiment. If you're just looking to grind XP, well you're on your own for that one.

Yea, it is hard to sell any power-ups of mine which are +23% on the bazaar when stupid people are selling +6% for like 100-1000. It gets annoying. Since they are power-ups and random, you can't name the power-up unless you have a reputation on selling high quality products. Then you just brand them with your name and people know which ones to buy. I am just going to put my power-ups in my shop and hope they sell.

Ah... I agree flooding the market with cheap powerups is bad; that's why I destroyed pretty much all of the ones I ground up on. I used the non-crap resources for ones for my own use.

I personally make it a rule to NOT sell any powerups that have less than +30%/+15% . . . or the occasional +30%/+10%/+5%.

And to avoid getting my stuff mixed in with the crap stuff . . . I only sell in underpopulated cities. But my CLIENTS know that I do that, and come running when it's time for me to unload my wares.

Remember that increased complexity = increased insurance costs. No idea how that plays on powerups that are stuck on the weapon.

The more times you experiment on something, the more complex. So if you experiement only 1 or two boxes at a time, you decrease you chance of failure, but you increase the complexity.

Also remember that really well experimented powerups wil improve two stats, so they sell better But don't flood the bazaar with 50 of them, or you'll drive the price too low for yourself later.

Actually you do get more exp. It's just on the UXP side, not when you craft.

How did you determine that? Everything I have read indicates that the uxp is based on a percentage of the original "make"xp.

I determined it by creating 2 new crafters in beta and doing the identical thing with both of them.

And then of course there is the not so easy to pin down with raw numbers fact that the people who are using items will always trash their lower quality product (stopping uxp) when they are able to upgrade, or not even buy the lower quality ones to begin with.
