Thread: Identifying NPC harvesters

Ok, I've wandered around the swamps of Rori a few times, and have come across some *huge* harvester fields. And the first time was day 2 or 3 of the game with some Trade Federation NPCs around. So I'm like "cool, NPCs have harvester/generator fields".

Well now, I'm wandering around and coming across similar things, but after this amount of time, it's easily possible for some PA to pool their resources and make that many harvesters. Now, I try to avoid crowding other PCs space (well, unless they're on a *really* good spot of a *really* nice resource), so I was wondering whether there is any way to distinguish between PC and NPC structures. Right now, I'm assuming that anything named "Personal Mineral Harvester" is going to be owned by a PC. And any structure with a faction symbol is probably NPC (I know I wouldn't want to be an overt artisan...).

And while I'm on the subject, is there any way to determine the owner of a structure (if it's a PC). Like I said, I came across a great spot last night littered with personal harvesters surrounding one big momma. If someone's already sucking up that much, I might just be better off sending him/her an email offering to buy some and use my harvester for something else. But without actually catching a PC maintaining the harvesters, I don't see any way tofind outwho I should contact.

i don't think NPCs have harvesters. You can change the name of the building in the maintenance options. NPCs can spawn near peoples buildings, making them seem like NPC mining opertations, tho!

There are no NPC harvesters. That huge field of Harvesters you found was, in fact, a field of PC Harvesters.

Also, when you declare your faction, all of your buildings receive your respective symbol.

BTW, Harvesters only require Engineering 3...that's very easy to achieve with a few dedicated people.

I saw a rebel NPC place an wind harvister. I was staning there looking at some PC harvisters and saw a small group of rebel's milling around the area. Poof he ploped down a wind harvister, I thought it was a PC that did it but when I clicked on him it said sargent bla bla bla.

"Seargent Blah Blah"

When you have enough faction points you can purchase rank. It was most likly a PC.

Well, there was a medium/heavy harvester sitting in the middle of the whole thing, so maybe I just overreacted. I mean, there are master architects wandering around by now, they shouldn'be be that big of a surprise.

Although I still wonder about that first one I saw. This was literally the first weekend (the 28th or 29th), and it looked suspicious with the Trade Feds wandering around, looking like they were monitoring things.

And on that note, I think NPC harvester installations would make a great faction mission. "The rebel scum have started stockpiling copper for their weapon manufacture. Go to this location and destroy them." It could even pop up on a high resource density spot for believability.

Anyways, thanks for the info.
