Thread: I'd like to ask a question about the experimentation percentage
I am very confused after tonight.
Generally I get 6 or 7 experimentation points. When I put them towards making a CDEF weapon, I generally get about a 12% number on the right. My results have been very varied. I can state categorically, that I have yet to get an experimentation amazing success with this combination.
Yet, when I build a trap, I only get one experimentation point, and when I use it, I get a 54%-56% number on the right. Here, I have yet to NOT get an amazing success.
So what is my question... Well, it is this. I thought the number on the right meant this was your chance for failing to succeed on your experimentation. This makes sense, because when I got ENG IV, my percentage went down from 22% to 12% for making CDEF weapons.
So why haven't I gotten an amazing success yet? I am not sure. Probably just the percentages. Why is it that when I have a 50%+ chance to fail, I have gotten nothing but amazing successes? I really don't know.
I suspect that there is a bug here.
Not really sure though.
Are you using all 6 or 7 of your experimentation points all in the same experiment? I used to do that but found that you basically got one chance to experiment and seldom did I get good results. After reading some posts about experimentation I tried only using one experimentation point at a time and runnning 7 experiments instead of only one. Occasionally I would get a failure and lose stats but usually I would get a great success and add 7% to the stat I was experimenting on with each experiment.

I am not sure about this, but will givemy theory anyway. I think your chance of success is tied not just to your skill. It is also tied to the quality of material you use. For example: Making a power-up with minerals having an Overall Quality of 500 might not ever give you an Amazing Success. Making the same power-up with minerals and chemicals of over 900 Overall Qualitywill give you occasional amazing successes.
I regularly get Amazing Successes. I have not strung seven in a row together though. I have been able to go from 26% effectiveness to 82% by using all my points (7) at once. This was on a power-up I made. Be warned that your chance of failure increases after the first few points.
Maybe I am entirely wrong. It could just be the way you hold your mouth when you craft or where you stand at the crafting station. ![]()
