I have got master artisan, and can I just say how much I am enjoying it.....even the surveying I like!!!!

I never took it as I hated medic crafting, but I am loving artisan (which I admit was my final holo) but for the first time in my SWG career I have dropped almost all combat profs.

Anyway, my problem is, I created a vendor, positioned it and initialised it, I then wanted to load it with items for sale but it keeps saying vendor not initialised, I have tried destroying it and starting again....waited till after a reboot but it is always the same!!!!

Can anyone advise me what I am doing wrong....or is there a trick in getting it to work!

Thanks for your help in advance

theres a lot of discussion about this on the merchant thread.

did you try sacrificing 3 chickens during the third phase of venus on a new moon, because thats what seems to work

what i really did was drop the vendor, initialise twice (you have to do this quick before the option vanishes) then pay some maintenance then use. but if you check the merchant thread there are various combinations to try

what type of vendor is it? NPC, droid, terminal?

If it is that big yellow terminl one, they are known to be bugged, yet it has never been officially stated by anyone in charge.

Place the vendor the best you can and initialize it WITHOUT moving it. If you place it and move / rotate it before you initialize it, it will not work.

Once you do initialize, it you can rotate it with the command /rotate right 10 or however you want to rotate it. You wont be able to move it (forward / back) though.

Hope this helps.

No, you didn't do anything wrong, except give up a little too fast. Keep deleting and placing... it is about a 30% chance every time you initialize one whether the system will recognize that it has been initialized. It's a bug, and there is NO METHOD to work around it. Sacrificing chickens will just get your keyboard all messy. Yuck.

When you get one that works, the good news is, it will keep on working, so stick your stuff in it. No need to put money into maintenence before you KNOW that it will work, by the way. Has no effect on whether it will.

I had the same problem. I ended up redeeding my home, then placed a vendor, and then it worked. Maybe not the best solution, but a solution nonetheless.

Had the same problem I tried all the work arounds and nothing. Then I made sure there was nothing on the floor anywhere near it and it worked as it was supposed to.

This is a bug.

It took me almost 60 tries before my vendor would initialize, that was like one hour of RL of place, initialize, try and use, nope, remove, get a new one, place, initalize, try, nope, repeat! Just keep trying it will eventually work.

Geeze this needs to be fixed!

This is a known bug with the Standard Terminal vendors. Every single time that I have put down a Standard Terminal I have this problem. However, there is a work around. Once you place the vendor and get it to where you want it, go ahead and initialize the vendor. Now that you have done that, click and HOLD (this is important) the mouse cursor over the intialize vendor menu selection again. You have to keep the mouse key held down during this step otherwise it will *poof* on you. I have move my mouse on and off this this several times for about 10 seconds. You may or may not see a change in the menu selections during this phase (I never have, but some claim they do). After these few seconds click off of the vendor and then try and use it. Providing you sacrificed live chickens on the proper phase of the moon during the Venus orbit (I liked that quote from above) then 9 out of 10 times this SHOULD work. Good luck with it.
