Thread: The crafting session has ended! --- what is going on?
And in the --- areas, type in the number of the schematic needed, like 19 or 24 or what ever you need, you will see the item being made in the schematic menu when the tool is started.
(option, use this on both lines if no items are wanted)
/createPrototype Practice NoItem
Save this macro as CraftTest - and it will work - never fails - make sure you put the macro icon in slot F1, and a crafting tool of the kind needed in slots F2-F7.
Now you will need to sit there and click on resources needed for the crafting as each schematic menu comes up. It will say crafting session ended, but it will be successful, you will notice the in the tool bar the tool being used will have a countdown as to when the item will be finished.

1) no
2) yes. I don't wanna end up with a bunch of junk I'll just have to delete
3) its practice.. no items.
I noticed you specifically mention practice.. does that have something to do with it? After I understand something I just try to grind it out :-/ shame on me.
Ipseck, I know there are some issues when using practice on certain items (can't recall which items though), as in when one item is finished when in prac mode, all other crafting applications are shut down (wether it be a window or items being made)
Ifyou are using a macro, and it sais that, it can be due to the way the macro is built, but you should still recieve your items (this is, if you dont use prac mode)
IF this is the case, it is likely to seem bad due to:
- When one does these kind of macro grafting sessions, one is usually trying to level a crafting profession. This implies that they have low assembly skills and would expect higher crit fail rates
- One is crafting an unusually large number of items in a short period of time. The law of averages would seem to indicate that you would see more crit fails per unit time macro grinding than in other crafting scenarios
Is this the case? I don't know. It does match some of the evidence.
Many on the board have indicated that they can reproduce the bug at will. Can someone confirm or deny the crit fail hypothesis?
My testing, so far, cannot deny the crit-fail hypothesis, nor can it prove it.
The best test would involve, in my opinion, these criteria:
- Craft X objects by hand (no macro, one at a time)
- Craft X objects by macro
Count the number of crit fails (where the assembly fails and resources are lost) in case 1 and the number of "Crafting Session has ended" events where resources are lost (no XP gained is a good measure of success or failure).
If the frequency of failures when macroing is much higher than when hand grinding, we have a case to take forward.
Ideally, this should be done by a master crafter, walking through a set of tools, like a macro would.
Thoughts?

Maybe there will be some similar percentages, maybe not.
I might have to bump it up to 100 or 200 tools if i cant reproduce the bug...
All in practice mode, and not once did i get any fails.

When I raised this issue to the Devs, the opinion (not final answer) was that it was critical failures causing the 'crafting session has ended' bit. Some experimentation I did doesn't disprove this theory, but neither did it prove it.

I guess I somehow could prove it, but this far I con only give my word. I get the 'the craftingsession has ended' message when using a macro, but it still creates the items, it shows the timer counting down and all works nice and dandy. (I am not using practice mode). When I do get a crit fail, it sends me two of those messages, 'the crafting session has ended', no timer, no resources lost (well, I was making strutural modules, so that isn't weird
)
I think I could go about doing some macroing and some hand work later tonight (I am a master artisan).
Nicra wrote:I have had the same problem since I have recently taken up Artisian. I have found that the only time the message "the crafting session has ended!" with the crafting session interrupted is when I am crafting more than one item with more than one tool at a time, with or with out a macro. Further testing found that it only happens just as one tool has completed an item at the same time ANY crafting stage window is up. Anyone found the same true?
I saw this once, happened about 3 times in a row, pretty much the same setup, without practicing. But haven't been able to reproduce it.
