I had someone tell me that the statistics on resources decay over time. (The speed of this decay being governed by the Decay Resistence statistic.) I have never heard anything like that before. It would seem to make resource hoarding pointless. Have I truly managed to miss such a major thing for this long, or was the person telling me this just clueless?

Never heard of it. Until recently, I had some resources that I harvested just after ship, they hadn't changed at all.

Nope, the stats don't decay. When a resource has a stat, that specific type of resource will have it, forever (unless they add some way to change it, which I strongly doubt)

Think of all the 990+ stat resources that would become utterly useless after a while. It would be the doom of high quality crafting.

Thanks, all. This is what I thought, but after being told different, I wanted reassurance.

If you click on a container ofminerals it has a red bar over it. I've always assumed that it meant the condition (hitpoints)of the resource. Never saw one lower than maximum so perhaps this is something from the past or a "feature" that hasn't been implemented yet.
::cringes at the thought of another "Feature" or "Enhancement" to our profession:::

I track all my resources in a spreadsheet to help me with my crafting. Their stats do not drop over time. There was something called 'Decay over time' back in beta which was replaced a long time ago. This just caused something like your 10k stack of Iron to dwindle down over time to nothing. I can't remember when this was changed though.
