Survey while ur afk. Shouldnt take more than 6-8 hours. Do it while you sleep or at school or work.

Just create a simple macro like

/sample

/pause 3

/sit

/pause XX

/macro

Where the XX is the regeneration time.

Just as an aside to the previous posts and in answer to your question, the macros won't get you faster xp. You just won't be bored out of your mind while doing it. In fact, depending on the macro you use it might take longer (but shouldn't matter, if you are watching telly, sleeping, or whatever else floats your boat).

Make sure you are on a high concentration of resource as this quickens the rate that you sample, if you aren't already doing this.

Other than that, try crafting while sampling, gives you something else to aim for.

I used this one which worked well for me. At least it was pretty quick for me.

/sample

/pause 40

/sample

/pause XXX

/stand

/sit

/pause YYY

/stand

/ui action toolbarSlotZZ

The part at the beginning where I paused then sampled again was for when you reach a rich sample and you have to click the window that comes up. It screws up your sampling and it won't continue.

The pauseXXX is how long you want to sample. I have high stamina and willpower which allowed me to sample a lot before I had to sit down. It basically regenerated by the time I sample again. Well almost regenerated. So I had it fairly high, something like 1200 seconds or something.

Pause YYY is the waiting time until you get yoru HAM bars back. Again because I had high regen for mind and action I didn't have to sit long. Maybe 500 seconds and I'm sure that was too long.

The toolbar slot part ensured that looped. So if you put the sample button in the first slot ZZ is 00.

I know it's more complicated but it worked well for me and ensured I could leave it overnight.

You will have a higher sample rate, and thus more XP if yuo sample on higher concentrations. Just a thought. Get out there and find your 98% spot.

Will those macros still work? I remember the big stink about AFK sampling back when the game first came out. Everyone claimed it was causing server lag, etc., when it was really just poor codetuning and database problems with the game (hmm, maybe it was all those extra newbie melons!). The result, however, was the inclusion of pop-up windows every now and again during the course of sampling that require you to click on a response to keep going. I don't know if these macros account for that.

the last line "/macro" needs to be "/macro <name of macro>". so if you name it "sample" you need /macro sample. then of course you need to add semi-cols after each line (ie.

1) Do /stand before /sample.

2) give yourself more than 3 seconds to sample. watch how long it goes until your mind is drained.

3) I use the /ui action toolbarSlotZZ to loop it. ZZ is the function key - 1 where you put the macro.
